 Soldier Optronics Newsletter

Despite the covid situation, we are still very eager to showcase our latest products, listen to your feedback and share our vision of the warfighter of tomorrow. In the meantime this newsletter will be sent regularly to continue/engage the conversation between you – our customers, users, prospects, partners – and us. On the website dedicated to our Sophie events members, this newsletter will give you new perspectives, raise questions, address operational issues, keeping you up to date regarding our latest air-land battlefield solutions.”

André Raymond, Thales Canada Sales & Marketing manager.

We hope you will enjoy this monthly meeting to e-xperience the Future of Perception!

What is the Sophie user’s community ?

A privileged convention around Thales Soldier Optronics offer, composed of more than 400 members users of Thales optronics & partners, from around 30 countries”

Users of Sophie products and services include dismounted soldiers, recce, fire support and intelligence, as well as Special Forces and logistics support professionals. The sophie family of hand-held thermal imagers and target locators – A reference for 20 years – has been sold all over the world, with more than 15,000 imagers in operation in 55 countries.

The Sophie Users’ Club was the first optronics users community which gave the opportunity for participants to:

  • SHARE : Meet and share their experiences with other users and Thales experts –
  • CO-BUILD : Discover and provide feedback on the latest Thales technologies and product features – to co-build with us the solutions of tomorrow
  • EXPERIENCE : Experience our products, solutions and services aroud soldier Perception through demonstrations and workshops

A brand new format

This year, instead of holding one single convention, we decided to offer you a new format of our privileged event “Sophie Users Club” : The SOPHIE  TOUR.

The Sophie Tour will now be a series of customised, more hands-on events in several parts of the world to address your specific priorities & needing according to  your regions. Thales comes to you !

We look forward to seeing you again after such a special year marked by the pandemic and the absence of events. We will not fail to make up for lost time by sharing our new solutions & future projects with you.

For each destination, the same objective: to bring together our customers and users from the same region to present our latest innovations around the common theme of the Perception, to listen & understand their future expectations and operational needs & propose them high-end live demonstrations & brand new solutions… around the future soldier ecosystem !

The main novelties :

  • Even more demonstrations  with a “users centric approach”
  • More than dismounted soldier’s topics :  guests will discover the entire Thales’ perception ecosystem for the modern battlefield (air, vehicle…)

Focus on specific needs & expectations according to the destination

Our identity is changing too !

Because innovation and evolution are our watchwords at Thales, we have also chosen to evolve our visual identity. A new name and a new logo will now be revealed to support our communications around the

event. We hope you’ll like it as much as we do!
